Canasta is being released as shareware. Copies may be
distributed by BBSes, FTP sites, CD-ROMs, disk vendors, etc..., with
the following conditions:
- The following files must all be present together, and unmodified when
distributed:
CANASTA.EXE - Canasta program file
CANASTA.HLP - Canasta help file
HISTORY.TXT - Version history of Canasta
FILE_ID.DIZ - Brief description of the program for BBS use
LICENSE.TXT - License terms (this file)
REGISTER.TXT - Registration form
- The following file may be excluded from the package, PROVIDED THAT IT IS
ALWAYS AVAILABLE SEPARATELY FROM THE SAME LOCATION AS THE 'STRIPPED'
PACKAGE:
BWCC.DLL - Borland Windows Custom Controls file
- When distributed inside a compressed file, the prefix of that file
should be CANAS202.
- The package should be listed under the name "Canasta 2.02 Windows cardgame"
- Vendors who have a copy which is dated more than 1 year ago should check
to see if there is a newer edition before distributing the package.
- Any vendor publication which lists CANASTA must clearly have an
explanation of the shareware concept. This information must be
visible to customers before they pay a fee to the vendor.
- The abstract in the FILE_ID.DIZ file contains text recommended
for use as a description for this package.
- This package should not be bundled as part of another product
without permission.
- CANASTA is copyrighted shareware. It should never be classified as
public domain or free software.
- License for the registered version is not transferable.
- This package must not be rented or leased.
- Those who benefit from the uses of CANASTA are expected to
register with the author. Users are given a 21 day evaluation
period. The registration form can be printed by typing
"COPY REGISTER.TXT PRN" at the DOS prompt.
- Although it is not a requirement, those who publish a review of
this program are VERY MUCH encouraged to send me a copy of the
publication containing the review.
